Energy

Energy is the lifeblood of modern civilization and enables growth and prosperity.

However, the consumption of fossil energy that supports traditional production methods over the last few hundred years has caused serious damage to the global environment and human health. Therefore, NCSD actively promotes the use of renewable energy, including biomass energy, as an important pillar of sustainable development. At present, the promotion of renewable biomass energy presents many challenges in the aspects of technical and commercial feasibility. NCSD has committed to seeking solutions through effective demonstration projects with feasible and profitable technical and commercial aspects.

Arkenol, Inc., NCSD’s strategic partner, owns the technology for the patented concentrated acid hydrolysis process (“Technology”) refined with more than 20 years of continuous research and development. The Technology converts any biomass waste, including straw, bagasse, wood chips, forest waste, biomass waste in urban MSW (discarded furniture, used clothes, waste paper) etc., in pure or mixed forms to produce renewable energy (fuel ethanol) and a variety of renewable chemicals with great market value. The production process does not produce secondary pollution, and provides recycling energy to meet the needs of the production process, as well as, enabling considerable carbon dioxide emission reductions. The technology has been determined ready for commercialization by U.S. DOE and their independent engineers and other experts. Arkenol has licensed the technology to partners in South Korea and Japan for commercial application, as well as, licensed the Technology to BlueFire Renewables on exclusive basis for North America deployment – shovel ready Fulton, MS 19 Million GPY Cellulosic Ethanol facility.

NCSD’s demonstration project in sustainable energy field is to vigorously promote the commercial application of Arkenol Technology in both China and the United States. China and the United States will produce a large number of straw and other biomass materials annually (for example, only China will produce up to 700 million tons of straw and 300 million tons of forest waste annually), where are very suitable for the large-scale application of Arkenol Technology. NCSD works together with the partners in China, United State, Canada and other countries to integrate technology, funds, market, government, elements of upstream and downstream industries, and actively promote the large-scale application of Arkenol Technology in both China and the United States.

The demonstration project could potentially generate a trillion dollar-scale biomass for renewable energy industry chain, and bring significant emission reduction giving China a potential major step up on meeting and exceeding COP 21 targets. NCSD believes that the promotion and application of Arkenol Technology will effectively breakthrough the costly and ineffective difficulties of the traditional biomass for renewable energy solutions, achieve the unity of clean energy value and profitable commercial value, and contribute to the utilization of environment-friendly energy mode and recycling economy for sustainable development. The Arkenol technology is a true example of China’s vision of a circular economy building block.
