Little Ice Age, Big Famine, Ebb and flow of the Empire
The time we refer to in the episode is the Little Ice Age since Late Ming in climate history. There is an ancient Chinese saying that right time, right place and right people together contribute to success.
During this several hundred years’ period, emperors administrated their lands in their own ways. Some of them tried their uttermost but still could not escape from the tragedy of devastation because of unchangeable natural conditions.
As to others, who made no difference during their tenures, they won their reputations on the contrary with the help of the right time, right place and right people.
